More New Plants

Yesterday Cam and I headed to Burbank and got some more plants from Lucy. I love her plants. I repotted most of them and was afraid that I would need some more dirt or perlite but ended up repotting older plants, moved some stuff around, and everything worked out fine. I baked the old dirt because gnats are real in these streets, and finished everything up. One of the plants is a plumeria which I hope does well because the full versions of them look great. Got flowers and everything. I also got a dragon fruit. I don't think my body is ready for it. I thought it just had the same name as the fruit but it turns out that it is the same thing. I am making sure it stays stable so it gets big and I can eat some crazy ass fruit I've never had. I also have a regular aloe which I hope does well. There is also the strange one in the middle that has already stabbed me a couple times because I did not respect its hussle.

Plant Update

As you all may know I have plants. A lot of plants. A month or so ago I stained the shelf all the way on the right and loved it. I was annoyed having it so bright compared to the other two. Believe it or not these are all the same named shelf from IKEA but the one in the middle that I got from Camille is far more sturdy. Guess the quality dropped over the years. I have over forty plants now and want more but need to figure out where I would even put them.

I also have the palm and ficus. The ficus is doing well and barely loses leaves anymore and is getting wider. The palm is not doing too well after a random millipede invasion that lasted weeks. They didn't even come from the plant but showed up through cracks in the wall and bee-lined it for the palm. I had to starve the plant to keep it from being interesting but I think it suffered because of it. I may just got another one or something else that likes my place more. So far flowers, wispy light plants, and this palm do not enjoy my apartment.

More Perler Coasters/Semi Retirement

I made some more Perler coasters this afternoon. I also plan on not making these for a while. After my ROM Spaceknight design I told my friend that I was done but then I wanted to just use up some of the colors that I had. I am finding less and less things to be inspired by in terms of making new things and I like making things no one else has. It turns into a combination of 1. Do I want to make this? 2. Why am I making this? 3. What am I doing with this when it is done? I am trying to get rid of the designs I have made on my Facebook page (it is not public) and instead of people saying "Sure, I'll take it!" I get a variation of "You should sell them!" My kitchen contains a mountain of framed designs, loose designs, and massive designs I have no plans for. Well over 1,000 things. That includes the ones on the wall.

Audrey II Perler Bead

Mae this Audrey II from Little Shop Of Horrors based off of sprite designs. I wanted to use different colors but ran out of all kinds of greens so I made this with what I had. It came out nice and cartoony.

Watermelon Cat Perler Bead

I did this watermelon/cat made out of Perler beads. I found a design and can not figure out how to even get to the proper site. Plenty of images online if you search vvv6toma though. Like the way this weird thing came out even though it is about three times bigger than I expected.

Muhammad Ali Perler Bead

Made this Muhammad Ali because I have a lot of black beads and not inspired to make anything else right now.

ROM Spaceknight Perler Bead

I decided to make this big ass ROM Spaceknight Perler bead a few weeks back but put it off to focus on other things like writing and even make a soundtrack for this character (click here for that). This ended up being 33 inches wide and 15 ½ inches tall. Somehow actually smaller than I expected. I am glad I went with this pose instead of the one I originally intended since that one was just tall. This is bigger than any frame I own so that's cool. I used a drawing by Loston Wallace, turned it into pixels using Pixel-Stitch, and started redesigning it in Windows. Love the way this came out.

I Made Some Tables

I made tables. For a while I have been looking for some sort of small tables or shelves and got tired of settling and decided to make them myself. Have I ever made a table? No. But, damn it, I have a power drill and an amazing amount of belief in myself even when I shouldn't. I first went to the hardware store to get some wood. Turns out they have free scraps of it in a bin. I was handed two one foot squares. I also had a leg I was gonna cut but ended up not using it.

Checkered Perler Bead Coasters

I did these Perler bead coasters based off of designs by I believe keirac_x. I think. Anyhoot, I like the way they came out and if I had more white beads I would have made even more of them.

3D Iron Man Perler Bead

Did this 3D Iron Man last night and had to wait till now to post an image because, well, light. I like the way this came out and ended up making a mistake in the base and was about to start all over until I realized that you can't even see it once the figure was placed on top an it was standing. Snorlax Perler Bead

This is a Snorlax for no reason at all in Perler bead form other than the fact he is my second favorite Pokemon.

3D Captain America Perler Bead

I did this Captain America 3D Perler bead this morning. I used the design that was created in sprite form over on Secret Base. I had made some designs from there in a previous post where I made Hulk, Hawkeye, and Iron Man as well. I love the way they look. I was gonna make all of them 3D but decided that it would just be crammed under the bed with the rest of my stuff.
