Storm Perler Bead

I made this Storm Perler bead the other day. I love the way it came out. I wanted to make a mohawk version but someone on Instagram named Emergent Beads made a cool ass one so I wasn't trying to touch that. I went with the other best version of her based off of the art of Jim Lee. 

Sarah Perler Bead

I did this Perler bead design for my friend Sarah. I asked what she wanted to wear and when she said maroon pants I was like "Do I have maroon beads...?" And what goes with maroon? I went on Google to see what the next shade down would be. This is the fourth Scott Pilgrim based design I have done including one I did of myself years ago. I like the way this came out and am glad she liked it. 

The Maxx Perler Bead

Another character I have been wanting to make for a while. I was a huge fan of The Maxx and it was one of the first comics I regularly collected. I used the cover of an issue of the comic and pixelated it. I ended up putting it together in three pieces. The body, the lower half, and then one of his arms. Under the bed you go!

Sabretooth Perler Bead

Last night I made this Perler bead design of Sabretooth. I have wanted to make one but they were all super big or would have just a design I wasn't feeling. I used a drawing from the comics and pixelated it and am happy with how it came out though up close it looks insane. 

Darkwing Duck (NES) Perler Beads

I made these Darkwing Duck from the Nintendo Entertainment System using sprites. I just wanted to make something that wasn't huge for a change. 

Wheeler Return To Oz Perler Bead

For the longest time I have wanted to make something from the movie Return To Oz. I was gonna make Tik Tok but it would have been both big and wrong looking. Other than him I have always loved the way Wheelers looked. When I was little I know I was supposed to be afraid of them but I thought they were awesome. I found a cool drawing by an artist named Dan J. Petock and pixelated it and make this. Not sure how tall it is. Let me check. 21 and a half inches tall. I was gonna add some color but I like the way it came out using simple ones. 

Knight Rider (KITT) Perler Bead

I made this Perler bead KITT from Knight Rider based off of the design by Van Orton Design. I love the way their stuff looks. I know a lot of people have made stuff from them in bead form but it is the same things. Mario, Link, and Predator. I lean towards trying to make things either no one of very few have made. I made this just as wide as the board.

Howard The Duck Perler Bead

I did this Howard the Duck Perler bead the other day. I was looking at all the different versions of him and some were gonna be way too damn big and I was not trying to make them since I made this just to keep my hands busy. I do like the ay this came out. It was based off of a comic book cover.

Boba Fett Slave 1 Ship Perler Bead

Yesterday I made this Slave 1 ship of Boba Fett's. I was gonna do it in color but the colors are so faded and odd that it was better for me to go with black, white, and greys. I still like the way it came out and it ended up being two pieces I put together. I was off by one row of beads and ended up freestyling a lot of it. 

Snarf (Thundercats) Perler Bead

 Last night I made this huge Snarf from Thundercats based on the art of Ed Pirrie aka Kingoji on DeviantArt. I expected this to be big and it is (20x23) but I had to attach the most random parts that stuck out past my board. I like the way this came out.

Voltron Perler Bead

This wasn't as hard to make as I anticipated. This Voltron ended up being 23 inches tall and used the strangest mixture of colors. I took the classic toy and pixelated it.

Black Panther Perler Bead

I did this Bruce Timm style Black Panther last night. I was this close to ordering more blue beads because after Black Bolt I was close to out. I cancelled the order and made do with what I had to stop from ordering more stuff. I had wanted to make a Black Panther for a while and most of the drawings were just a black shape with a thin blue outline or mostly blacks and greys and I didn't want to do that. I found Timm's style and pixelated it and really dug how it came out. I did this in four pieces using my one lonely peg board.  I keep saying I want to make something small and end up with another large piece. I can't even put stuff under the bed right now. 

Black Bolt Perler Bead

The other day I made this Black Bolt from Inhumans in Perler form. I really like the way this came out. I took an image from the comics and pixelated it. I removed the wings because they looked like chaos in this small a Perler. I also changed the colors to the classic blue shades instead of greys. This ended up being 20 inches wide and 16 inches long. I expected it to be bigger but am glad it wasn't. 

Luke Cage (Power Man) Perler Bead

While making other big ass designs I wanted to make a Luke Cage and a Black Bolt. I ended up picking Cage because I doubt I have enough black Perler beads for the other. I went through a bunch of different pictures from the comics trying to find one that wouldn't be ridiculously huge but ended up doing that anyway. This ended up being 30 inches tall. I went with the original design of the character because it is cooler than just some Black dude in a yellow shirt and jeans. 

MC Skat Kat Perler Bead

I made this MC Skat Kat for a friend who is a huge Paula Abdul fan. First I checked if anyone else had made one and didn't see any. Then I checked if someone at least made a pixelated version. Nope. So I found a sketch of the character from his design stage in black and white and went from there. I like the way this came out. 

Johnny 5 (Short Circuit) Perler Bead

I did this Johnny 5 from Short Circuit based off of Van Orton Designs. I had seen something of theirs before but thought someone had created it themselves (because folks like to never give credit). I checked out their website (click here for that) and their Instagram (click here for that) and their art is amazing! While I scrolled through I saw movie and TV characters that I had made or wanted to make over the years. 

Flight Of The Navigator Perler Bead

Last night I made this Trimaxiom aka Max ship from Flight Of The Navigator. I have wanted to make something with this ship for a while but never had the right colors. I could have used more shades of greys but I like how it came out. 

Ras G Small Perler Bead

I did this small Ras G Perler bead for my best friend. She challenged me to try after the Stevie Wonder and I did it. I was afraid it wouldn't look right but thankfully it came out pretty cool. 

Sting (Crow) Perler Bead

I made this today. Yes. I have been making a lot of things today. I made this Crow version of Sting and love how it came out. After I pixelated the image I was not sure how it would turn out. The shades of greys and browns seemed questionable until I finally finished and looked at it from a couple of feet away and not inches from my face. This for sure will be on a canvas. Seriously, I am happy he just showed up in AEW this week and freaked out like a child when I saw him. 

Stevie Wonder Perler Bead

I made this Stevie Wonder Perler design almost on a dare. Someone just mentioned making him and I said I wouldn't because I wouldn't know what to do with it. Fast forward and I am looking up photos of him I can pixelate. Which I did. I have these small canvas from a paint set I got a while ago and used it and made it so it was close to the same size. I really like the way it came out. Used black, white, three shades of grey, and clear beads. 

Ram Man Perler Bead (canvas added)

I made a Ram Man! I have wanted to make this dude for the longest time. I looked up different drawings of him but didn't want to do that. I almost went with a coloring book version. Eventually I went with the actual toy and just pixelated it. I changed the colors because it was orange and like some reddish color and made it like the toy I owned as a child and it might be in my kitchen buried somewhere. This is about 17 inches tall and 12 inches wide. It made me smile seeing this on my floor. 

Ivan Drago Perler Bead

I never planned to make all these characters but I have now completed the set. Done. Not making anything else Rocky related. I am finished! Did this Ivan Drago last night and it was completed in five sections. The finished version is 35 inches tall and dwarfs all the rest of them. I really should learn to measure my designs before I start making them. I am usually more concerned with the colors and width than anything else so when I started this and his head and neck took up the peg board I was like "Oh, no." ended up having to order more sand colored beads to finish this.

Rocky Balboa Perler Bead

I never meant to start making a whole set of the cats of Rocky but here we are. I made this Rocky Balboa last night and changed some colors around because that belt he is wearing is pure chaos. I am happy that this turned out to be the same size as the Apollo Creed. The Clubber Lang on the other hand is now dwarfed. Not sure how I feel about that. I might eventually do it again but bigger. But likely not because I have done that before with designs and it is torture for my brain. I am currently working on another design that is big and stupid.
