Michael Jackson Perler Beads

I recently made some more Perler beads of Michael Jackson for Cam and Jen-Jen. I used the last of my black ones but, damn it, it was worth it to see the joy on their faceparts.

Gizmoduck & David Bowie Perler

I whipped together a coupe of Perler designs today. I made a David Bowie one for my friend Heidi and a Gizmoduck. The Gizmoduck was a bit hard to do because there were patterns online but they were either colored wrong, super squat, or folks took terrible pictures based off the wrong designs.

Animated Perler Beads

Decided to make some cartoon based perler beads the other day. The first was Megaman X which is when he finally started looking a bit cooler in the video games. This was not hard to make.

Next up was two that I thought were gonna be smaller than they were. I thought these were gonna be about three quarters high. Nope! Scooby Doo and the Smurf were not hard to do but that damn Smurf used a lot of blue beads up.

I finally got some more black Perler beads and of course went blank on what I wanted to try making. The first I made was a tiny Freakazoid. Then I did Pinky & The Brain.

NES Perler Beads

I am still out of black beads and decided to make some old Nintendo themed perler beads. They were super easy to make. Its Kid Icarus, Simon Belmont from Castlevania, and a phantom enemy.

Super Mario Bros. 2 Perler Beads

I decided to continue using up my colorful Perler beads and made these Super Mario Bros. 2 themed ones featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess, and Toad. Toad was the best one in this game by the way. He couldn't jump to save his life but he was fast and pulled up turnips the fastest.

This week I decided to start using more of the colors that I never use. Mostly bright colors that just sit in my three huge buckets being used three or four at a time just to highlight something. I made these fruit shaped coasters that I found online along with some Care Bears.

A little bit ago I decided that I needed to start doing something with my Perler beads designs besides gluing them to my door or sticking them in a box. No, I wasn't gonna sell them. I usually give them to folks when they ask for one...usually. Some are going nowhere. I took the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a bunch of action scenes from old comic books that sucked and glued them to a poster board. It came out very colorful.

I found this pattern for these a long while ago. They are from the NES version of the game that was damn near impossible to play and finish. I made a Raph one a while back and gave it to a co-worker so today decided to make all of them. The design I found didn't have the weapons so I added them. These took about 15 minutes each to make.

These took about 7 minutes each. Very easy and very fun to make.

Beads For The Week

I made a few simple Perler Bead patterns this week. I love the Double Dragon ones since they are so easy but, damn, they use a lot of black beads! Why don't stores carry more black? It is the hardest color to find!

Its been hard to find some of the designs I've wanted to do. Instead of Perler Beads I've been searching for patterns for games made from stitching instead of beads. I'm looking for some Altered Beast ones and found one I'll be starting soon.

I forget sometimes that I draw with the other stuff I focus on. Well, my internet was out at home and I decided last week to start drawing weekly and updating old characters. This is one of the ones I've had since high school named Tabitha.

I have not been making as many Perler beads since it was getting out of control. I was neglecting my writing, blogging, podcasting, and art. But here are some I made over the past few weeks.

These are the last Perler beads that I’ll be doing for a few weeks. It got to the point where I was sitting here cranking them out one after another and not writing as much as I know I can and I cant keep running to Santa Monica to get more black beads since no place near me sells the damned things. This is a fun hobby and thanks to all the people before me that makes these from scratch and those who post pixels for me to zoom in and make designs from.
